From ingredients grown on the local organic farm and herbs gathered around the Sinji vrh Guesthouse, he creates delicacies inspired by traditional dishes from the Trnovo Plateau.
Sinji vrh Guesthouse, on the edge of the Trnovo Plateau, amidst pristine nature and offering a stunning view of the Vipava Valley, delights visitors with heartfelt hospitality. Hikers, paragliders, and excursionists come for an excellent selection of homemade dishes, and they can also stay overnight at the guesthouse. For many years, Sinji vrh Guesthouse has hosted two renowned painting colonies, seminars, yoga courses, and other creative workshops.
Chef Kristijan Vidmar likes to emphasize that he does not create the dishes alone. The reputation of Sinji vrh was built “in the middle of nowhere” by his parents, mother Irma and father Hieronim. Even today, with Kristijan and his Beti being helped only by his mother, the house’s culinary offerings are the result of family creativity. Their cured meats, Golden Ring Cheese brand cheeses, game dishes, organic lamb, and nettle and walnut dumplings provide an unparalleled experience of the authentic flavours of the Trnovo Plateau.
GREETINGS FROM VIPAVSKA CULA
Golden Ring Cheeses
At Sinji vrh, deep in the abandoned underground tunnels from the early 20th century, the very special Golden Ring cheeses mature, made from raw local cow’s milk. The welcome bite from Vipavska Cula, contributed by Chef Kristijan Vidmar, is therefore a selection of their excellent cheeses.
